If you are looking for a good tool that will help you with your color scheme, the Color Hailpixel is a great resource. The Color Hailpixel seems almost like a game as you scroll your mouse over the web page to view the different colors. In order to grab colors from the screen, users must click to save. Users can select as many colors as they wish. With the keyboard, users are able to change the hue, lightness and saturation of their colors. The Color Hailpixel also gives the hexadecimal, RGB and HSL. If you don’t want a color, users are able to hit an “X” to remove it from the screen.

I like this tool because everything stays organized as you select your colors. The colors stack side by side, which makes it easier to see how the selected colors look together. I also like that the color values are displayed when you hover your mouse over the web page and also once you’ve selected the colors. I would like to see them take Color Hailpixel a step further and possibly implement a color rule. So you had the option to select either analogous, monochromatic, triad, complementary, compound, or shades. I think Color Hailpixel could look into having the capability to save colors. All in all, Color Hailpixel has a unique interface that makes picking color swatches fun.
