I recently attended a webinar with CEO and founder of Heyo, Nathan Latka. The webinar also included special guest, Joshua Parkinson, SEO and founder of Post Planner. The webinar discussed different strategies to engage followers on social media. The company’s goal at Heyo is to help small businesses and entrepreneurs grow faster by using marketing campaigns through Facebook. The platform focuses only on Facebook to create leads and drive sales. I wanted to share with you some of the information that I found valuable from the webinar with Nathan and Joshua.

Takeaways from the Webinar
Social media for your business is important. It is a great marketing strategy to include because it can help promote brand awareness and bring in more sales. What kinds of things should you post on social media? Nathan focused on a variety of types of content businesses can post that will promote engagement. Businesses should think about asking their followers questions, using fill in the blank posts, or true/false statements. Both fill in the blank and true/false statements require either one-word responses or a couple of words. These are easy questions for followers to reply because it doesn’t take a lot of time or much thought.

Other types of content for engagement could include motivational quotes. Quotes (especially with images) are things people are more apt to share. If a friend shares a motivational quote from your business, chances are their friends will share the post as well. This will help promote your Facebook Page.

You could also ask people for likes. If you create some kind of call to action this will create more engagement and interaction. Some people might frown upon this time of content but it is okay to ask for the things you want. If you want more followers, don’t be shy! You never know unless you ask.

The webinar also suggested crowdsourcing content and creating a content calendar. Nathan focused a lot on scheduling and using a calendar for your content on social media. Because Heyo focuses on Facebook, much of the tips and suggestions were for that particular social network. Visuals and videos are great things to include on your page because they produce the most shares. It is important to mix the type of content you post on any social network.

What is Heyo?
