Are you one of those people always on your phone? More than likely you are sending and receiving text messages or also known as short message service (SMS). A lot of businesses are straying away from email marketing and using SMS as a form of marketing with our digital world today. SMS marketing could better company’s sales, traffic, and revenue.

With SMS marketing, customers are able to opt in. They request to sign up for SMS messages because usually a company advertises that they will receive news and promotions. Opting in for messages makes it the customer’s choice. And most of these SMS marketing strategies should give customers an option to opt off from receiving messages at any time.

One of the great things about using SMS marketing is that it’s fast. When messages are sent to customers, it can almost be guaranteed that they will read the text within minutes of receiving it. This is because people are usually within arms reach of their phones all the time. Also what makes it better is that customers don’t have to sort junk or spam emails when you use SMS marketing.

SMS marketing is also affordable. Businesses are able to use SMS marketing for fairly cheap, however each service provider varies in cost. They can use service providers to help keep track of text delivery success. There are also other options that will provide you more details on your customers so you can learn more about what and when users have clicked on. SMS marketing is great for those businesses under a budget.

SMS marketing is short and to the point. Unlike emails or articles, text messages have to stay short (usually one or two sentences) to get their point across. This is great for those customers who are short on time. So you must plan and choose your words carefully with SMS marketing. Just be cautious about how often you are sending messages to your customers. The last thing you want to do is alienate your customers.

Perhaps you aren’t getting the results you want with your email marketing, so give SMS marketing a try and compare your results. SMS marketing can really help with the success of your business. It’s more personal because it goes directly to a customer’s phone.
