The rumors are true. Twitter has finally released a buy button for tweets. Users will now see the button on their newsfeeds as they test the new feature. They will be able to purchase directly from Twitter without having to go to a separate website. Twitter makes it easy by only requesting minimal information such as shipping and payment information.

Twitter is beginning their test with nonprofit organizations, bands, artists, and retail stores. Follow Brad Paisley, RED, The Home Depot, or Global Citizen to see how Twitter uses the buy button. For a completed list and additional details, please visit Twitter’s blog.

Twitter says, “This is an early step in our building functionality into Twitter to make shopping from mobile devices convenient and easy, hopefully even fun.” How likely are you to purchase with Twitter? What questions, comments or concerns do you have about this new button?
