There are thousands of WordPress plugins out there. However, trying to find the best plugin to fit your needs and budget can be a challenge. I came across WooCommerce. This is a free e-commerce WordPress plugin that has a lot to offer customers and can help simplify your life. The plugin also offers themes and extensions.

WooCommerce focuses on six main features. The plugin has many other features that can help create a custom e-commerce site.

The WooCommerce plugin accepts payments for PayPal accounts, credit card, BACS, and cash on delivery. On the user side, WooCommerce allows for only one base currency. However, there are extensions that can include more.

Shipping is an important factor with an e-commerce website. The plugin allows users to configure a variety of shipping options. Users can select flat rate, free shipping, international delivery, local delivery or local pickup. Also, each shipping option has additional settings. There are many extensions that users can download to better the functionality of their e-commerce website.

Users are able to keep track of their physical and digital inventory with this plugin. Under settings, users can be select if they wish to be notified when stock is low and out of stock. They can also set the parameters for each. Within the inventory settings, users are able to enter the length of time a customer can hold stock items.

The plugin has the capability to show sales reports and see growth. The data is shown in graphs and can easily be exported as a CSV. Users can view information on orders, customers, stock and taxes. They can also customize the reports in terms of data and how the information is displayed.

All businesses need some form of marketing. The plugin allows users to create marketings strategies by advertising certain sale items, specials or free shipping.

Taxes are important thing to consider. Users are able to configure a variety of tax settings. Users can adjust things such as enabling/disabling taxes, prices entered with tax, and calculating tax based on: billing address, shipping address and store address. They also have the option to display the tax in the cart and checkout.
